Globetrotter's Mood: Accra, Ghana

THE MINDSET & LIFESTYLE OF A GLOBETROTTING STILETTO

You are a stylish jet-setter who’s committed to travel. You go because you have to. You need to see, feel, taste, touch, immerse yourself in culture, scour the globe for inspiration, treasures that exist outside the confines of your everyday life. You’re not afraid to splurge, but prefer to save. When you do splurge it’s on experiences, seldom ‘things,’ experiences matter more. You get down and dirty and enjoy adventure but you also like the cosmopolitan lifestyle—martinis, boating and the finest dining. You have a wish-list of all the places you want to see, things you want to do. You value time and live in the moment because you know tomorrow is not promised.  You my friend, are a Globetrotting Stiletto.

For this week’s Globetrotter’s Mood, we’re taking you to the capital city of Ghana—Accra. Accra is one of the continent’s safest towns and just so happens to be one of the easiest cities to navigate in Africa. Hail a taxi from your hotel to Labadi Beach, then stroll around Oxford Street. When you’re done, visit The National Museum and Artists Alliance Gallery, you can not be in Ghana and not explore fine art history from and about Africa.

The weather is obviously hot and humid so remember to stay hydrated while still looking your best—bright, breezy dresses and separates are the way to go. And eat lots, Ghanian cuisine is flavorful and reminiscent in some ways to Caribbean grub. Quick tip: Don’t go now! Accra is in the middle of their dry season, but it’s never too early to book your flight for a visit any time after April 2016. Smart stilettos plan ahead ;-). Don’t forget to share your experience with us when you do finally go! Happy travels.
